A free real-time strategy game: the USA against Russia with real-world hardware, from the Humvee and the T-90M to the F-22 and the S-400, on Forged Alliance's flowing economy, armed command vehicle and huge battles.
Windows 10/11, 64-bit · about 260 MB · latest development build
What it is
Big-battle RTS, today's hardware
Supreme Conflict copies the way Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance plays (the economy, the controls, the scale and the balance) and swaps the sci-fi factions for the armies of today.
You start with one armed command vehicle. It builds oil wells and power plants, factories turn out tanks, aircraft and infantry squads, and engineers climb from T1 to T3 until one side can field an experimental. Lose your command vehicle and you lose the game.
Play skirmish against the computer AI, from Easy to Brutal, or open a game room and play with friends. It runs on the open-source Recoil engine, the engine behind Beyond All Reason, and it is a free hobby project: nothing to buy, ever.

Every unit has its numbers from Forged Alliance's community balance (FAF), converted to the new scale. In game, click a unit or hover it in the build menu to see its weapons, range, targets and damage per second.
Forged Alliance at heart
How it plays
If you know FA, you already know the game: the same economy, the same keys, the same scale.
Flowing economy
Oil and Energy flow every second. Build too much at once and everything slows evenly (the bar shows STALLING); an energy stall also cuts your oil. Wells upgrade from pumpjack to derrick to refinery, with FA's adjacency bonuses.
Armed command vehicle
The M1 Liberty and the Rodina build, fight and upgrade (engineering, main gun, reactive armour, shield, field refinery, overcharge). Lose it and you lose the game, and it goes out with a blast that wrecks everything nearby.
T1 to T3, upgraded in place
Factories and oil wells upgrade where they stand, keeping their health and position. Engineers go from T1 to T3, and only T3 engineers can build the experimentals.
Strategic zoom
Scroll out from a single tank to the whole map without a cut. Zoomed out, units turn into NATO-style map symbols by role and tier, so you can run three fronts at once.
FA hotkeys and formations
The default Forged Alliance key map: control groups, attack-move on A, patrol, assist, reclaim, Ctrl+Z to select all of a type, Tab for the whole map. Right-click and drag sets a formation's facing. F1 in game lists every key.
Veterancy
FAF's rules: units earn experience from the value of what they destroy, up to five levels, each adding health and regeneration. Stars show in the selection panel.
Strategic weapons
ICBM silos and anti-nukes, shields, tactical missiles and the C-RAM / Pantsir-SM to shoot them down, plus T3 long-range artillery. Alerts warn you when a nuke launches.
Skirmish AI
The computer uses the whole tech tree: it upgrades, builds defences and shields, launches nukes and pushes for your command vehicle. Easy, Normal, Hard (+20 % income) or Brutal (+50 %).
Multiplayer game room
Host a game and friends join by address: pick teams, countries, colours and AI players, then start together. A version check keeps everyone on the same files, and a crashed player can rejoin the running game.
Top tier
One experimental per country
The only science fiction in the game. Built by T3 engineers with a long, Forged Alliance-sized build time: about two and a half minutes with ten T3 engineers on it.
United States
AC-X Archangel
Experimental flying laser gunship.
A THEL-X combat laser burns through ground targets while its CIWS guns shoot down aircraft and incoming missiles. Fast, high and very expensive.
Health
65,000
Oil cost
30,000
Build time
50,000
Russia
Tsar Peresvet
Experimental super-heavy land fortress.
A Peresvet combat laser, 152 mm turret guns and Pantsir air defence on one slow, enormous hull. Hard to stop once it is rolling.
Health
80,000
Oil cost
27,000
Build time
48,000
In duel tests the Archangel wins with less than a fifth of its health left, but it costs 3,000 oil more. Both are new and still being balanced, so their numbers may change.

Iron Valley: a hundred Abrams against a hundred T-90M, equal oil on both sides.
Bradley against BMP-3: the first shots of an infantry fighting vehicle battle.
Infantry: US and Russian rifle squads close in on each other on Red Steppe.
A US base on Red Steppe: pumpjacks on the oil, power plants, vehicle depot and the M1 Liberty.
Four Corners in winter: a Russian base with BAT-2 engineers and the Rodina command vehicle.
Late game on Red Steppe: the Russian base keeps growing.
Strategic zoom: the whole of Four Corners at once, every unit a map symbol.
Experimental duel: Archangel against Tsar Peresvet.
Iron Valley from above: two armies close in on the central crater.
Work in progress: the game changes all the time, so details may already differ from these pictures.

Download and play
The latest development build: everything you need is in one zip, with no installer and no account.
Supreme Conflict for Windows
Development build. Expect rough edges; it is updated as the game grows.
A graphics card with OpenGL 4 and recent NVIDIA, AMD or Intel drivers
About 1 GB of free disk space
For multiplayer: a network connection; everyone needs the same game version
Install in three steps
Unzip the download anywhere, for example Documents\SupremeConflict. Use a new, empty folder for each new version.
Double-click Play Supreme Conflict.bat.
Pick your country, map, mode and AI level in the launcher, then press START. In game, F1 shows the controls.
Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC", because the game is not code-signed (it is a free hobby project). Click More info, then Run anyway. Tip: before unzipping, right-click the zip, choose Properties and tick Unblock to avoid most warnings.
Playing with friends
Everyone needs exactly the same version; the game room tells you if your files differ.
The host chooses Multiplayer: host a game; the game room shows the address friends should type. Friends choose Multiplayer: join a game and enter it.
Over the internet the host's launcher tries to open port 8452 (UDP and TCP) on the router automatically. If that fails, forward the port by hand, or everyone joins a free Tailscale (or ZeroTier) network and uses the host's Tailscale address.
The first time, allow "Windows PowerShell" (the game room) and "spring.exe" (the game) through the Windows firewall.
Licences
Game code: GNU GPL v2 or later (the Lua code is included in the download).
3D models, sounds and other art: per item, see the credits.

What's new
· build 2026-10-23-3
Burning wrecks
Destroyed vehicles now burn: flames and a flickering glow, then the ammunition cooks off and sometimes throws the turret
After about 30 seconds the fire is out and a charred, burnt-out wreck stays on the battlefield
Wrecks can still be reclaimed for oil by engineers and the command vehicle, just like in Forged Alliance
Brighter muzzle and impact light flashes
· build 2026-10-23-2
Graphics, sound and new maps
Enhanced graphics: new unit shading, light flashes from guns and explosions, ambient occlusion, bloom and sharper shadows (F7 or the launcher switches to Basic)
All three maps repainted with photo-based ground, skies, water and lighting: steppe, green valley and a winter map
Real models for the infantry squads, both experimentals and the bunkers; softer team colours
Full sound: weapons, explosions, aircraft, engines, radio voice lines per country and a music jukebox (Ctrl+M)
Order buttons are back in the bottom-left panel, a new unit info card on hover, and a cleaner on-screen message log
Ctrl+L now selects only combat land units (no engineers or command vehicle), Ctrl+A only combat aircraft
· build 2026-10-23
First public build
Real 3D models for 109 vehicles, aircraft and buildings, repainted per country
Multiplayer game room: host, join by address, pick country and team, add AI
Quick, clear explosions that no longer hide the battlefield
Hold Space and move the mouse to tilt and turn the camera
Fog of war can be switched off for testing
